A Grand Day Out
This is definitely a route I would recommend, with some caveats. The section along Lobethal Road to Ashton is a bit busy. It didn't feel dangerous, but it wasn't pleasant.

I tried to win one in a comp. I did a few test rides. Every day became leg day as I rode the bakfiets everywhere.
Best Gear ≠ Best Ride
We pushed on, through the reeds, past the beach, and into a forest, along a rooty path. Through a paddock. Past the cows. And the bull. Over the turnstyle with the bikes.
Don't ride this route.
I ride off, absolutely confused, scared, and thrilled all at the same time. I get to a gate that fortunately is not locked. I unhitch the latch, bring my bike through, and the camel stands there, in the middle of the track, looking at me.
