Bikes! Pub Bike I Friends wanted bikes they could ride to the pub, or to the beach, and not have to worry too much about. This one came to us for a small sum of money from the Adelaide Bike Kitchen.
Bikes! Granit Stålhästen Collab A great bike for hauling the occasional crate of beer from Systembolaget.
Infrastructure They Paved Paradise I'd heard rumours that the trail had been "upgraded", so decided I needed to go and take a look. As I entered the trail from Waterfall Gully Road I didn't think it was too different. A few creek crossings were no more.
Activism The Third Place There is a petition to help bring the ABK and its societal value to the attention of Councils and the State Government. Please sign it.
Event Coffee and Kanelbulle Unley BUG is hosting a ride starting at the Unley Town Hall car park at 9am and ending up at Montefiore Hill at around 10am for coffee and cinnamon scrolls. Bring your coffee making paraphernalia if you have it. I'll make a batch of cinnamon scrolls to share.
Infrastructure A step in the right direction This is an area that has had some attention in recent years, getting a concrete protrusion into the street to give pedestrians a better view of the street for safer crossing. It now looks like it's going to get some more attention with a zebra crossing.
Chats A chat with Daniel I knew I wanted wide tyres, which is why we picked the Bloomfield. I like rim brakes. They look good and they're easy to maintain. It works great aesthetically.
Infrastructure Parking lot Turns out that the square on Via Guiseppe Mario Puglia wasn't always a gorgeous music filled space with a restaurant and bar. It took concerted effort. And what a result!
Chats A chat with Caz ...and people treat you differently as well. The locals of a place will see you differently. They'll see you more as "them" rather than someone else. Travelling in Indonesia, when we were on the bicycles, people were so much happier to have us in the cafe or whatever, which was cool.
Chats A photoshoot with @kat_bikes Unfortunately there are many, many details that I didn't collect about their bike. Fortunately, we can catch up online for a chat in the near future, and I can put together a proper "A chat with..." post.
Chats A chat with Tin I realised it was a fantastic way of getting around, and I often thought of how great it would be to continue riding after the shift as opposed to riding around town, going back to the garage, and driving home like I did for a couple of years.
Chats A chat with Simon Drawn together by a passion for lollygagging and speaking to random strangers, Simon and I have known each other for just shy of 25 years. For the whole time he has had Cool Bikes.
