The 1st Pizza Ride
It was a small group. It didn't matter. We met at the designated spot at 16:30, stood about chatting for a while then set off in the glorious weather out to Port Adelaide.
Hannover. Roma. Adelaide.
The cars look out for you. You look out for them. And together you dance the right dance and you get where you need to go in reasonable comfort.
Idea: Commuting Buddies
If you're a comfortable bike commuter, and there are people at your work/uni/school who aren't sure how to get into commuting by bike offer to help them. Post about it on your Intranet. Put a sign on the pinboard. Mention it around the water-cooler.
Bicycle Art and Sounds
I was just putting together a playlist of bike-related songs and found this piece of art that I really have to share. It's a piece called Speed that was part of a series of bike themed posters called Artcrank by Peters Design Company.
Mike Turtur Changes
The bit by Devon Street South where you have to pop out onto Victoria Parade sucks. That the path guides you to an annoying designed-for-pedestrians crossing is an irritation that is easily surmounted by having a squiz at the map beforehand.
Adelaide to Melbourne
It'd be a magic way to spend a couple of weeks, meandering the coast line, eating and drinking the local deliciousnesses. Looking out over the ocean and inland to the massive and diverse countryside that would pass you by.
Even bad bikes are the best.
We sheltered under a 1850s windmill. We got lost amongst reeds. We rode through a beech forest. And through a paddock with curious cows.
Event - Pizza Ride!
I have been inspired by @llamalloyd and think it'd be nice to do a gentle cruise to Port Adelaide to have some pizza.
No pace expectations. Only good-vibe expectations.

It's a social thing!
It gives me time and space to think, and it feels meditative. In the morning it feels like it wakes me up and primes me for the day. It gets my blood pumping. In the afternoon it's the delineation between work-time and home-time.

The process the second time was much the same as the first, except that I had all the required bits and pieces, so all I needed was to gather some nice-to-have accoutrements and I was off and running.
